Teens
The Teen Department at Longwood Library takes pride in providing students in grades 7 through 12 with high-quality books and media for educational and recreational use, with the goal of creating lifelong learners. Collection highlights include test prep materials, college guides, popular fiction, and graphic novels. Driver's Manuals and Safe Driving Packets are also distributed by the department.
Programs run by the Teen Department include: 5-hour Pre-Licensing Class, Getting Ready to Babysit, craft programs, cooking programs, nature programs, and plenty of volunteer opportunities. "Games and Goodies" and "Classic Games and Goodies" are offered approximately once a month. Battle of the Books, a county-wide reading trivia contest, is offered three times a year: Winter Battle of the Books, for those in grades 5-8, Summer Battle of the Books, for those entering grades 6-9, and Advanced Division Battle of the Books, for those in grades 9-12.
